In thinking about a novel I'm working on, I realized I needed an articulate black evangelist as a character (don't ask why). Right about then NPR mentioned Bishop T. D. Jakes and he sounded about right. I Googled him and discovered:

(1) he is a BIG TIME articulate black evangelist who meets with presidents and heads one of the fastest growing mega-churches in the U.S. http://www.thepottershouse.org/bishop=bio

(2) he has been selected by the Illuminati to be the successor to Billy Graham as part of their nefarious plot. http://www.conspiracyworld.com/index0044.htm

(3) he is a heretic. http://www.myfortress.org/TDJakes.html

Now is that a good character or what? I wonder if it was a sign that NPR happened to mention him right then.
