3 Birds, De-Lovely, & more
Aug. 17th, 2008 08:46 pmThis has been quite a nice weekend. Z was off with a friend and the friend's mom to go to a couple of concerts so B and I planned a nice romantic dinner together. I Googled "romantic dining Cleveland" (or something similar) and we ended up finding Three Birds in Lakewood. We really enjoyed it - a nice romantic setting, good service, and great food. We split a lobster pizza as an appetizer, then for entrees we had pan seared sea scallops and roasted duck breast, and pineapple crumble with caramel ice cream for dessert. On the drive home the full moon was just rising, deep orange and absolutely enormous.
When we got home, we watched De-Lovely, a movie musical based on Cole Porter's life and music starring Kevin Kline and Ashley Judd. I'd never heard of it even though it's only a few years old and it got really good reviews. It was really nice. The acting was great, the music was really good, and the movie did an excellent job of telling the story without nearly as much dialog as I would have expected. I'd really recommend it highly.
Along with shopping, cleaning, yard work, and packing for college it has been a very full weekend.
