Home-made blueberry pie made with blueberries from our yard! It was wonderful (now all gone).
Georgie (the hunter of our two dogs) had a close encounter with a skunk. I don't think she got sprayed directly but she was fragrant enough to need a bath with de-skunking formula (take 1 qt 3% hydrogen peroxide, 1 cup baking soda, and 1 tsp. dish washing detergent. Mix just before using. Wash dog thoroughly. Wait 5 minutes and rinse with tap water.) The de-skunking formula works well but this happened right at bedtime. Not the way to start your evening.
Just before Georgie's adventure I was watching Dr. Horrible on our older laptop (a Macintosh PowerBook) when it started making a really loud fan noise (it sounded like a hair dryer). I started having images of the computer dying but I didn't have time to look into it then (see paragraph above). This morning I spent a block of time online researching PowerBook fan noise and learned that (1) our model is known for noisy fans and (2) it has two fans and the second one only comes on when the computer is really hot. It was a really hot evening and playing the video had the CPU working hard. Apparently the computer is fine but dealing with computer problems always is really stressful.
I spent the rest of the day alternating between work and sewing for Pennsic and topped it off with racketball. I'm a little tired but relieved that everything turned out OK.
