Long time, no post
Apr. 10th, 2008 09:40 pmLife has been a little hectic, therefore I haven't had time to post. I hope to get back to posting regularly. Here are a few random bits as a start:
1. No more driving to Columbus one Friday a month! My teaching down there is done! I enjoy the teaching and it pays well, but being on the road twice a month is a little much. Maybe things will calm down a little now.
2. I finally got the first draft of my instruction manual for low-tech methods of time travel written! (Physics and methods for exploring the past and the future without fancy equipment... "We don't need no stinking wormholes".) If I can find time to do one rewrite I'll be ready to get some feedback and start thinking about markets. Where do you publish a 9000-word explanation of time travel? It isn't really scifi and it isn't really humor...
3. In the small world department - Yesterday I went into a local store to buy stuff for making Zan's armor, the guy was friendly and helpful, we chatted a bit, then I bought what I needed and left. As I was getting into my car he came out and said "Excuse me, but do you happen to have any relatives in Pennsylvania?" I said "Well, yes, but they have a different last name..." It turns out that he was one of my cousins and he'd recognized my name from the credit card. I last saw him 30+ years ago in rural Pennsylvania and now he's managing a store in Cleveland.
