We may survive after all

It's been incredibly busy.  Last Saturday I taught all day in Pittsburgh (and got to visit with an old friend from grad school) then we picked up a new car and I gave a talk Monday night.  Next (on top of my usual work week), I had to do payroll and get ready for the Cleftlands' Regular Event on Saturday. 

The event was stressful because I was Marshal-in-Charge for Rapier and Maaicke was Marshal-in-Charge for Boffer and neither of us is very experienced at this.   Fortunately, it went quite well.  Nial and Dulcia were there to help Maaicke with Boffer and all the kids seemed to be having a good time (this was Vreile's last chance at Boffer before she turns 18).  Snowden came to help me with Rapier and marshaled all day.  She was an enormous help.

I'd decided to experiment with tournaments that combined the event's theme (the Crusades) and Monte Python.  The tournaments worked despite my screwing up a few times and everybody seemed to have a good time.  There were no injuries, no bad feelings that I'm aware of, and my Spanish Inquisitor costume went over well.  The feast was great (an incredible rabbit pie) and we got home very full and very tired.

Now I'm in scenic Butler, PA where I teach tomorrow and then things should calm down a bit.
