Adventures in medieval living
Jun. 5th, 2006 09:28 pmWith Northern Oaken War Maneuvers this weekend it is starting to feel like the Pensic War is right around the corner. The Musician's Guild is singing at Katie & Bastien's wedding Friday night, there's a torchlight rapier tourney later that night which is a lot of fun, Nial's hosting a Brewer's Roundtable (there's usually enough to provide samples for bystanders), Vreille and Alaria will be fighting boffer and hanging out with the crazies, Maaicke will be helping with boffer, I'll be taking the test to become a rapier marshall, etc. Pray for good weather
My new adventure is trying to make a pair of 13th century ankle boots. I think I've figured out what I'm doing and it seems to be going OK so far. The test will be when I finish sewing the first one and turn it right side out (you sew them inside out). Will it fit??? I bought enough leather for two pairs of boots and I'll be quite happy if I end up with one pair that fits.
Stay tuned for further developments.
