A big day in Cleveland/Cleftlands

Today was both Standardbearers (our SCA barony's event with our annual tournaments in armored combat, rapier, and archery, and the regional National History Day competition. This meant that Susanna and Barb (aka Vreille & Maaicke) were down at CWRU with Susanna's project about Hawaiian resistance to the US's overthrow of Hawaii's constitutional monarchy while I was taking part in the rapier tourney.

The event was quite nice and the tourney was a lot of fun. I felt quite good about coming in second in the tourney (Ealdred won) and was relaxing with the rest of Bork during court. We were all happy because Jared was the archery champion (and he's a virtual member of Bork) then the Baron stunned me by choosing me as Champion at Arms. (Don't ask me why I was chosen... but I'm really honored)

When I got home I found out that Zan/Vreille had an even better day. She won first place in her division and a special award as best exhibit overall. Wow.

Tomorrow we're off to Philly on our Spring Break trip (friends, college visits, visiting Xavid/Keho, and Spamalot).
