The weather just gets crazier and crazier. Not only has it been incredibly warm all month but lately we've been alternating one day of Winter, two days of Spring, for the last week or two. It was snowing this morning but a few days ago it was up to 60. According to Scientific American, scientists analyzing atmospheric samples extracted from ice cores in Antartica have found that the CO2 concentration in today's atmosphere is 27% higher than the highest it's been in the past 650,000 years. I guess there's no need to worry, our President says there's no need for us to do much of anything about global warming.
Barb, Zan, and I saw "Love Janis" last night. Great music, a well-crafted play, good acting and a lot of fun.
Bork! We spent most of today at a meeting of our SCA household (gift exchange, planning for upcoming events and the Pennsic War, food, and conversation). It's a good group and it's sort of remarkable when you consider that it's a fairly random group of people who only crossed paths because we each got interested in medieval re-creation.
It hasn't been long since conservative Christians were going around asking "What would Jesus do?" as a guide to appropriate behavior. Recently a group of assorted clergy members asked the IRS to investigate the tax-free status of two mega-churches who have been engaging in partisan politics in support of a conservative Republican candidate for Governor. From what I've heard about the way the mega-churches have responded, it sounds as though they believe that Jesus would insult and demonize those who disagree with him. They certainly aren't acting as though they think that he would turn the other cheek or that he would consider the possibility that his critics might have a good point.
